Nothing makes me happier than the intoxicating aroma of Fall candles – except Fall candles wrapped in Halloween packaging. Today I want to share with you five awesome Halloween candle collections for 2017. Some may be familiar, most will probably be new to you!
One of my favorite things about the Halloween fam on Instagram, is that it’s led me to find and meet Etsy shop owners that create awesome handmade Halloween goodies. In my few months of being on Instagram I’ve come across a few shops hand-making unique spooky candles – and I’m a sucker for em’. I don’t know about you but candles are a staple during this time of year in our house, all year really…but I enjoy the scents of Fall most of all. Not only do I love the smells, but I just adore the dim glow of a candlelit room on a cool Autumn evening. It’s the epitome of coziness to me.
1. Bath & Body Works
I know, I know – predictable. Everyone raves about those Bath & Body Works 3-Wick candles and I’m one of them. I couldn’t help it…I just loved the packaging this year. I stopped in to my local White Barn about two weeks ago and they already had their entire Halloween display up, I was in heaven! Both the candles and candle holders were just so cute.
Normally the bigger brands are overpriced, however I wanted to include B&BW because they have sales often. Their 3-Wicks (normally $26.50) are often on sale for $12.50.
2. Witch City Wicks
Straight out of Salem MA, Witch City Wicks was founded in 2011 by Liz Frazier after creating handmade candles in her home as a hobby for quite some time. In an interview with The Candle Enthusiast, Liz mentions that a few eclectic shops in Salem got their hands on her candles and loved them. Shortly after due to demand, Witch City Wicks was born and opened up shop on the famous Essex Street.
They pride themselves on creating vegan-friendly candles using domestically grown soy wax, phthalate-free essential oil blends and pure cotton wicks (all a plus in my book!) Their label art is spooky, dark, and perfect for Halloween.
3. OverSoyed Organics
OverSoyed is a brand offering a wide variety of organic personal and home fragrance products, including candles. They have an incredible Halloween collection for 2017, featuring 20 different scents with unique creepy packaging ( the one shown above was one that intrigued me most 😉 ) I love the victorian-style jars that they come in, as well.
Each candle is made with 100% natural soy wax, which burns cleaner, lasts longer, and holds scent better. It’s evident that they are a brand that takes great pride in their product, ensuring the best ingredients possible go into their candles. They openly share the ingredients they use on their product ingredient list.
4. Kitsch Candle
This one is for all my vintage Halloween lovers! Kitsch Candle is a small Etsy shop based out of Knoxville, TN that specializes in making hand-poured soy candles with awesome vintage labels. The Halloween collection features 25 candles with spooky labels, showing everything from retro witches & black cats, to haunted houses and ghosts.
What’s awesome about this shop is you can mix and match labels and scents! You choose a label you like, and then choose a scent from a drop-down menu on the product page. The Halloween scents available are Autumn Evening, Falling Leaves, Pumpkin Chai, Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Witches Brew, Fire Roasted Marshmallow, and Caramel Apple. I’m in love!
5. Werther & Gray | Dark Series
To end this list, I’d like to share one of my absolute favorites. If you’re a history buff like me, this collection is for you. Werther & Gray creates themed candles focused around eerie history, literature, and folklore. Their Halloween collection, called “The Dark Series” features 12 Autumn scented candles sure to set the Halloween mood.
The collection is appropriately named since it includes titles such as Seance, Witch Hunt, The Black Death, Freakshow, Nightmare, and more. I’ll gladly take one of each!
Hopefully this lists inspires you to shop small this Halloween season!
